In computer networking, We have two main Model OSI and TCP/IP Model, OSI Model is based on conceptual and TCP/IP is implementable Model
In TCP/IP Model ARP is in Internet Layer, and in OSI model it located in second Layer.
Most of the time the hackers are targeting our office or home internet by simply changing there computer MAC address and gain access to our network and computers, there're plenty of ARP attacks but I would like to point out two common ARP attacks which is called ARP Spoofing and Poisoning
What is ARP Spoofing? or we can called ARP Snooping, one of Cyber Attacks the main concept of the ARP Spoofing to change their MAC address to targeted PC or computer MAC address, for example, They change their Computer MAC address to our Computer MAC address with that promise the can access our internet because they bypass the MAC filtering feature of my wireless access point or wireless router so on I can include Network Switches as well
ARP Poisoning, it's also one of the most common Cyber Attacks that targets our Network devices
such as network switches router so on, that involves sending malicious ARP packets to a default
gateway on a LAN in order to Deny the services (DOS) for example our switch will accept until 16,000 MAC address whether it is Layer two or three Switches CAM / TCOM table
when the Switch MAC address table getting full it stop working or does not accept new request
therefore hacker try to deny your network services by simple sending more than 20,000 ARP request to damage your Network!
